Goals and objectives of the Academy

• organizing the activities of the Council of Heads of Educational Institutions for Advanced Training and Professional Retraining of Education Workers and directing it towards the formation of a development strategy and solving the most pressing problems of additional pedagogical education in Russia;
• advanced training and professional retraining of management, teaching and methodological staff of regional institutions of additional pedagogical education, managers and specialists of municipal methodological centers (offices);
• development of exemplary educational and thematic plans and programs for advanced training, professional retraining of various categories of educators; expert and advisory work aimed at improving educational activities;
• interaction with regional institutions of additional pedagogical education in the organization of educational, research, scientific and methodological, publishing and other types of activities;
• organization of work on the formation, study and generalization of the experience of regional institutions of additional pedagogical education and their publishing activities, etc.

Organization structure and personnel

The structure of the Academy includes 17 departments, 10 centers, 9 methodological rooms. The employees are highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel. Among them, 78% have an academic degree: 39 people are doctors of science, 88 are candidates of science.

The Institute for Advanced Studies and Professional Retraining is a structural subdivision of Moscow State Educational Institution that implements programs of additional professional education. The Institute for Advanced Studies and Professional Retraining was created with the aim of training highly qualified specialists, increasing the professional knowledge and competencies of specialists, improving business qualities, preparing them to perform new labor functions in accordance with the needs of the regional economy.
